After earning my MFA in Creative Writing in 2005 I began a career as a freelance writer. Slowly and steadily I pointed my career toward travel and food and today I'm a full-time freelancer with a series of successful guidebooks to the state of North Carolina, its coast, its mountains, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I publish regularly in Our State Magazine, Salt Magazine, Blue Ridge Outdoors, and have stories forthcoming for Matador Network and Southern Living. As a professional I've stepped up to take a leadership role in the Eastern Chapter of SATW, and upon the recommendation of several NATJA members I've decided to join up.
